“Baby, It’s Cold Outside” is one of my favorite holiday songs, and you’d better believe the second it gets chilly here in Florida, I’m going to celebrate! I found a basic sweatshirt and gave it a major upgrade with this flocked gray monochromatic heat transfer! Stay warm, and if you make this cute sweater design, I would love to see it! This design with the hand-lettering style is one of my favorite designs in the Silhouette Design Store.

Supplies Needed:

Step One: Locate Your Design

1. Locate Design ID #228156 in your Silhouette Library and double-click the design to open it in Silhouette Studio®.

2. Adjust the size of the design by selecting it entirely and dragging the outer corner to make it larger or smaller. According to the size of your shirt, you’ll want to adjust your shape to complement its size.

3. Now that your design is ready to go, you are all set to cut your design.

Step Two: Cut and Assemble

1. Whenever you are cutting heat transfer, you want to make sure that you cut it correctly. Remember to mirror your image before you cut it! Thankfully, I have the latest version of Silhouette Studio®, and it asks me BEFORE it cuts if I want to mirror the image in case I forget. This is priceless.

2. Load your heat transfer into your machine or place it on a cutting mat. Then in the Send window of Silhouette Studio®, make sure to select the correct material (Heat Transfer, Flocked in this case). It will then tell you what to adjust your blade to. If you’ve got an AutoBlade, then you don’t need to adjust your blade.

3. Once your material is loaded, send your design to cut.

4. After your design is cut, weed the excess material away to leave only the phrase.

5. Iron on your design with a cloth pressed between the design and the iron. Use a low-heat setting or a shirt press. I find that if you wait about 60 seconds for the design to cool prior to peeling the plastic sheet off, you will have an easy time removing the plastic from the design. If the design has not adhered fully, just repeat the ironing process until the design is completely ironed on.

I hope you will love this new design and make these adorable sweaters! I get warm and fuzzy just thinking about it! Happy holidays, ya’ll!
