The summer is in full swing, and we are all planning a fun in the sun pool party. Whether it’s with our family, our gal pals, or a play date, the pool party is inevitable! Here are a few simple ways to use your Silhouette to add a little personality to the party!

For this event, we chose a bright color scheme with flamingo and stripe accents. Give each guest a favor (we went with sunglasses). It will be an eye-catching centerpiece and make your guests feel excited about taking something home with them!

We used an adorable flamingo design from the Silhouette Design Store and made these straw toppers and added them to paper straws to enhance our flamingo theme. Using the Silhouette CAMEO® makes it SO easy to cut intricate and delicate shapes to add to any party décor.

Let’s face it; kids don’t always LOVE putting on sunscreen, but I found these adorable bottles that are perfect for dispensing your sunscreen (“before sun”) and aloe (“after sun”). The kids will have fun squirting it out of the bottle and can draw shapes with the nozzle before rubbing it in!

Supplies Needed:

Step 1: Locate the Font and Design

After purchasing the art in the Design Store, open the Text Style Menu in Silhouette Studio®. Using the Text tool, create a “before sun” and “after sun” graphic and size it to your preference.

Repeat with the flamingo art on a separate file. Do not put on the same file because you are cutting these out of two different material types.

Step 2: Cut the Art

When you open the Send panel, everything the Silhouette will cut will be highlighted in red. If you are using a ratchet blade, set your blade. I have an AutoBlade, so the hard work is already done for me!

FOR BEFORE SUN/AFTER SUN ART:

Choose “Vinyl” from the menu and adjust your blade to the recommended depth. Load the vinyl into the Silhouette and click “Send.”

FOR FLAMINGO ART:

Choose “Heavy Cardstock” from the menu and adjust your blade to the recommended depth. Load the vinyl into the Silhouette and click “Send.”

Step 3: Prepare and Apply the Designs

When the Silhouette is finished cutting, weed away the excess vinyl or remove the excess cardstock.

With the help of transfer tape, perhaps my favorite helpful product, carefully apply the design to your bottle. The cardstock flamingos can be added to the straws with the help of double sided tape, glue dots, or even regular tape.

Get ready for some major fun with these party fun inspiration ideas! Who’s ready to Flamingle? Happy Summer y’all! Until next time, friends!
