I seriously LOVE October, November, and December. They are my ULTIMATE fav! It’s probably because it’s not so flipping hot, AND my three favorite holidays are Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Of those three holidays, for Halloween, I go all out! I love decorating for Halloween, and I’m going to trick-or-treat until I’m 90. So today I’m excited to share with ya’ll this super cute ghost banner, made in this year’s Halloween color palette (I’m very nontraditional when it comes to color): melon, coral, peach, citrine, and yellow.
Supplies Needed:
- Silhouette CAMEO® or Silhouette Portrait® or Silhouette Curio™
- Silhouette Cutting Mat
- Silhouette Cutting Blade
- Silhouette Studio®
- Card stock
- Mini Googly Eyes
- Yarn or Twine
- Hot-Glue Gun
- Design #69807
Step One: Cut Out The Design
Size the ghosts to fit 6 ghosts per sheet of 8.5 x 11 card stock. You can size them bigger or smaller to taste, but I found about 4 1/2 inches tall worked best for a cute banner AND utilized the most paper. (Note: As you can see, I left the eyes of the ghosts to be cut out! This way when you attach the googly eyes, you are able to glue them evenly and in the same place on EVERY ghost.)
Step Two: Attach the Googly Eyes
Once your ghosts have been cut out, you can start attaching the googly eyes. Apply a SMALL dab of hot glue to the back of each eye, and place it directly over the ghosts eye hole.
Step Three: String The Banner
Now you can string up your ghosts. I dabbed a little dab of hot glue to the back of each ghost and then attached the ghost to some yarn. I used a ruler to make sure I spaced my ghosts out evenly.
Step Four: Hang Your Banner
Hang your newly completed ghost banner, and you’re done!!! How cute, right? I love nontraditional colors for Halloween and Christmas, but these ghosts would look SO CUTE as the traditional white ghost instead! I think the googly eyes are such a fun touch!
