BIOGRAPHY

Mother of two; wife of one. I have worked in many fields of art and design over the last 25 years, and I know how lucky I am to get to work in a field that continues to feed my creative brain monsters. Always a fan of the vintage, the colorful, and the funky–I hope you enjoy my creative stylings. Every purchase is very much appreciated! I never use AI. It is all human made.

I have been a silhouette user and an artist with the team since 2009… not that I’m dating myself or anything. I am an eclectic sort of person in all things – in my art, in the music I listen to, and even the clothes I wear. I get inspired by vintage illustrations, retro clothing, fun textures, and sassy color combos… so what I create can vary quite a lot.

While still in high school, I started a mural business which led to me painting the school mascot on the gymnasium floor; my art career sort of snowballed from there. I’ve created art for characters in video games, designed textiles and clothing, as well as completed traditional paintings and I love exploring new medium. My latest kick is hand embroidery on vintage clothing and accessories.

Blocks are something that hit all creatives at some point, but I’ve learned to set down the pen and pick up a brush, bake a new kind of dessert, or dig around in the garden. If I do something that fires my creativity in a different way, it usually helps to spawn new ideas in the places I was stuck. Give yourself the space to let your mind wander and you might be surprised at what you learn about yourself. I think that’s what I like about this career most of all; today isn’t the same as yesterday and it won’t be the same as tomorrow, as long as I’m willing to keep growing. If you’re just setting out on the artist adventure, my advice to you would be to embrace what it is that makes you different and then protect it.

Know your worth and be willing to set boundaries to guard your time and your sanity. It can be the most rewarding job in the world but, for most of us, it means putting our hearts out into the wild and that can be scary. Be brave, be true to yourself, and try to enjoy the ride.
