The Silhouette Cameo® 4 Pro is the largest cutting machine in the Cameo 4 product line. With a 24-inch cutting width, it’s perfect for large-scale designs and projects. Not only does it cut materials like cardstock, vinyl, and heat transfer but with the new Silhouette cutting tools (sold separately), you can also cut materials like fabric, leather, felt, craft foam, burlap, and more! You can even use your machine to sketch and turn a simple poster board into a work of art!
The Cameo Pro is compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems and utilizes Silhouette Studio®, the dynamic software behind any Silhouette cutting machine. And with access to the Silhouette Design Store, you’ll have access to over 170,000 designs!
To get the Cameo Pro, go to SilhouetteAmerica.com!
Larger cutting size

The Cameo Pro boasts a 24-inch cutting width. That’s double the size of previous Cameo machines and 11 inches more than the Cameo Plus! With a wider cutting width, you can definitely tackle bigger cutting projects. Sketch on a poster board, cut designs from multiple pieces of cardstock on a cutting mat, cut out precise pieces of fabric for a sewing project, and more: the list goes on and on!
Roll feeder and crosscutter

With a bigger cutting width, you can cut from bigger rolls of vinyl. The Cameo Pro comes with pieces you can use to assemble your own roll feeder. This makes it easy to cut long lengths of vinyl at one time.

The built-in crosscutter allows you to cut vinyl directly from the roll. After your vinyl is finished cutting, go to the back on the machine. Lower the crosscutting track, and slide the crosscutter in one smooth motion across the track. This creates a straight, even cut across your vinyl.
Bluetooth connectivity
With the Cameo Pro, you can utilize Bluetooth to cut designs from a Bluetooth device, like a computer or a mobile phone. This means you can communicate with the Cameo Pro without a USB connection or you can use the Silhouette mobile app, Silhouette Go™, to create and send designs while you’re away from your computer!
New specialty cutting tools

These new specialty tools can be used in the tool chamber 2 of any of the Cameo 4 cutting machines, including the Cameo pro. With the Rotary Blade and the 3mm Kraft Blade, you can cut even more materials. And the Punch Tool makes weeding vinyl and heat transfer even easier.
Pop-out cut mode
Just like the Cameo and Cameo Plus, you can now cut out select paper materials using a special perforated cut mode called Pop-out cut. This is all possible because of a channel that runs under the cutting blade that is available on the Cameo 4 models. Once the Cameo Pro makes the cut, you can unload the material from the machine and simply pop out the cutouts.
New and improved rollers
The pinch rollers allow you to adjust the width to match the material that is being loaded into the machine. You can adjust the right-hand roller to Letter/A4, 12 inches/A3, 13 inches, 15 inches, 20 inches, and 24 inches. Then once you adjust the middle pinch rollers so that they are equidistant from each edge, you’re ready to load your material or cutting mat.
Those are only some of the amazing features of the Silhouette Cameo® Pro! To learn more or to purchase your very own machine, go to SilhouetteAmerica.com!

Please help. I am brand new to my research and have come across silhouette several times on youtube. I am in the market for a Vinyl cutter to start a rhinestone based t shirt business. I dont know which cameo would be best for that. Also is the silhouette design studio EXCLUSIVELY for use on silhouette branded cutting machines. Thanks in advance

Hi Abdel. While there are lots of factors to consider, I would recommend the standard Silhouette Cameo 4. Basically anything you would put on a T-shirt would fit within the 12″ cutting width. You might consider the Cameo Plus or the Cameo Pro if you want the extra cutting size, but I think the standard 12″ Cameo is the easiest to work with for a beginner and would meet your needs. You’ll find lots of tutorials specific to that machine, including from rhinestone companies.
Yes, Silhouette Studio works only with Silhouette machines, but you can purchase designs from SilhouetteDesignStore.com with the SVG add-on to cut with other machines.

What thickness will it cut?
Kelly Wayment
January 18, 2021
The Cameo Pro (and other Cameo 4 models) can cut certain materials up to 3 mm thick. Materials that are that thick and also dense might not cut (acrylic and metal cannot be cut, for example).

The Cameo Pro can use the Pop-Out Cut feature, just like the Cameo 4. We are working on a comprehensive list and how-to’s for the various blades. You can look at descriptions for the individual blades in the shop to see what they cut, or take a look at this Blades and Tools Compatibility list.

The Cameo Pro is the Cameo 4 “just Width is different”? RIGHT?
Im sorry I said “I have mist wrote “I HAVE” sorry.
Kelly Wayment
January 18, 2021
Yes, the Cameo Pro has the same capabilities as the Cameo 4, but will cut wider (24″). The only other difference is the Pro has an external roll feeder to accommodate really large rolls, whereas the Cameo 4 has a built-in roll feeder.

I have a friend looking for a machine to do the following. She wants to be able to cut vinyl to make shirts and stickers. Is there a model better suited for both of these applications etc. I’m reading up but am open to additional information.
Kelly Wayment
January 18, 2021
The Cameo 4 (12″ size) is the best all-purpose machine. It’s perfect for the vast majority of designs you are likely to apply to a shirt, and it will make print & cut stickers all day long!

I’m wanting and will be getting this as a Christmas gift. I want the mat that you can photograph a design on and the machine will cut the picture out perfectly. I don’t see the mat for this extra large machine?? Is that available and my current studio (upgraded) is not set up for this really large cutting mat or vinyl so how will it find the larger area so the machine software will give the 24″ on screen design area as apposed to my current 8″ (I don’t know, its one of the first machines) design area? I will be using both machines, and I upgraded my software is there different software just for this machine, I would assume there would be? if so there additional cost? with the huge cost of this product you would think it would come with the best software and other accessories. I have a lot of questions. Oh Michaels is selling this for the same price, what benefits come with purchasing it from you as apposed to Michaels? Thanks

January 18, 2021
You can use the regular Cameo PixScan mat in the Cameo Pro. (There is not a larger version available for the Pro.) Please make sure the Cameo Pro is your selected machine in the Page Setup Panel to see the full cutting width for your machine. The software is the same for all Silhouette machines.

What is the thickest and the hardest materials the new Silhouette Pro will cut?
Kelly Wayment
January 18, 2021
I have had success with leather that’s 1-3mm thick, and some chipboard and balsa wood 2-3 mm thick. The more dense the material, the more testing you will need to do to find the right settings for that particular material. It will not cut hard materials such as acrylic blanks or metal.

Hi, I am ready to start cardmaking business for large volume, as well as making pop out cards, layered paper art (led) shadow box art through adobe illustrator. We have a cricut maker, but frustrated with the mats always needing replacing and dull blades that die quickly. Is the cameo pro require mats for cardmaking? What blades & tools are needed (we also plan on using chipboard, etc but in the future)? And do we need to buy a CD player for software or is it downloadable. Will bundles be available soon?
Kelly Wayment
January 18, 2021
The Cameo Pro can technically cut cardstock without a mat using the Pop-out Cut feature, but for bulk cardmaking pieces, I highly recommend using the mat. You’ll use an Autoblade (included) for cutting most materials. Depending on the thickness of the chipboard, you would possibly need the 3mm Kraft Blade, and for fabric and felt you would need the Rotary Blade.

Hello ,

We do not have an exact date. Supply chains for all manufacturers have been hit hard by the global pandemic, and Silhouette is no exception. Please keep watching our shop or other retailers who sell the Cameo Pro.

My Cameo for is not letting me cut because it’s saying no tool detected setting not found and I’m getting a warning arrow how do I fix it
Kelly Wayment
January 28, 2021
First, make sure you have the blade installed correctly so the software can detect it. Then please make sure you have your correct machine selected in the Send tab. There is a machine icon at the very bottom of that page; if you click on it, it will give you a list of all available machines. Make sure your machine is powered on, is connected by USB cable or Bluetooth, and you have performed any firmware update if it says you need one. Once the connection is complete, it should detect your tool. For further troubleshooting, please reach out to Silhouette Support.

I recently purchased the Cameo 4 Pro. I also own a 12 inch Cameo 4. Is there a different set of ‘100 free shapes’ that is given with Cameo 4?
Kelly Wayment
February 1, 2021
I believe it is the same set of 100 free designs that comes with all three models of the Cameo 4 (including Plus and Pro). I will find out for sure and get back with you!
Kelly Wayment
February 2, 2021
Mary Ann, I’ve confirmed that it is the same 100 free designs that comes with all models of Cameo 4, so if you have two sizes of Cameo 4 (in your case the 12″ and the Pro), you won’t see an additional set of 100 designs.

I have a SilhoIuette Cameo 4 Pro but cannot find the 24″ wide heat transfer vinyl I need for a customers design which is a 24″ diameter. Is this something that can be ordered? I did not know when I bought this machine that I would not be able to find the vinyl needed for the large designs.
Kelly Wayment
February 1, 2021
Silhouette does not sell 24″ wide vinyl or heat transfer at this time, although that is something I have passed along as a request. There are many sources for purchasing 24″ heat transfer either online (do an internet search for “heat transfer 24 inch”), and you can also see if there is a local vinyl sign shop in your area that might carry rolls of heat transfer that large. I believe Silhouette chose not to sell it because it is widely available from other sources.

I had already done an internet search for 24″ HTV and could not find any except in white and black. I called a few places but none of them carry the 24″ except one place that carried 30″ wide bolts at over $1,000 for the bolt. Perhaps you could tell me the sites that you know carry the 24″. Several said I could get the 12″ x 24″ and turn it sideways but I need 24″ x 24″ minimum. I have since talked the customer into a 20″. Please pass on to your upper levels that this customer thinks if you are going to sell the machine you need to at least offer the vinyl it is capable of cutting. Why have the machine if you can’t get the supplies?
Kelly Wayment
February 9, 2021
In looking further, it appears you are correct that it’s difficult to find 24″ heat transfer. Industry standard appears to be rolls of 12″, 15″, or 20″ for heat transfer, and rolls up to 24″ for adhesive vinyl. I will pass along your feedback.

There are a few sites online pre-selling the Cameo Pro- do you have recommendations ? I am worried they may not deliver or be reputable.
Kelly Wayment
February 3, 2021
There are plenty of online retailers besides SilhouetteAmerica.com who are reputable. Perhaps if you list a few I can tell you if they are main-stream sellers.
