Hi crafty friends! I don’t know about you but I *love* Valentine’s Day, everything about it! Some of my favorite memories of growing up with my sister are the times when she helped me make my Valentine’s Day cards. She always made sure I had the cutest cards in class. Today, I’ll be showing you three quick, cute, and easy last minute Valentine’s Day ideas for all you busy crafters out there.
Things you will need:
- Silhouette CAMEO® 3 or other Silhouette cutting machine
- Bright colored cardstock paper
- Inkjet Printer
- Printable White Sticker Paper
- Printable Heat Transfer Material
- Mini canvas drawstring bags
- Crayons
- Chocolate
Valentine’s Chocolate Stickers
One word . . . chocolate. I’m pretty certain that nothin’ beats a good chocolate. I used a super cute file from the Design Store (ID #37484) to print these adorable stickers on white sticker paper to apply to the chocolates. It gives them an instant holiday feel in a matter of minutes! For an amazing in-depth tutorial on how to print and cut your own stickers, check out this tutorial by the amazing Erica Sooter.
Canvas Drawstring Baggies
Can I just say that I am obsessed with these little baggies? I mean come on! I love this otter file and I immediately had to add it to my cart in the Design Store when I saw it (ID #54367)! I used printable heat transfer material for light fabrics to iron the otter design onto my baggies. I love how fast and easy printable heat transfer material is. It saves me so much time because I don’t have to cut and layer each color/piece like traditional heat transfer vinyl. I just print, cut, iron and viola! Check out this tutorial by Analisa for all the information on how to use registration marks to print and cut your heat transfer material out!
You can add candy, erasers, toys, crayons, stickers and so much more to these baggies. Not only are the super cute and easy Valentine’s crafts to make, but they are also versatile and can be used as storage for long after Valentine’s Day!
Pro Tip: After you apply heat to your design/baggie, wait for the transfer to cool completely before you peel the backing. This will ensure that the design sets perfectly so that you don’t accidentally “pull” any of the image away.
Color-It-Yourself Valentine’s Day Cards
We live in a world where create-it-yourself and do-it-yourself reigns. Be honest, how many of you walkthrough aisles of stores and see something cute and immediately think “Oh, I can *totally* make that at home”? I can confidently say I am not the only one! That is the beauty of these color-it-yourself Valentine’s Day cards. Leave the creativity up to your friends! This project was so incredibly easy to make. I know I keep saying that, but it’s the truth! I love how easily I can create cute things with my Silhouette machine. How did I ever live without it?
For this project, I cut the larger portion of the file out of pink cardstock. Next, I printed the image portion onto printable white sticker paper and used the Print & Cut feature to get a perfect smooth cut. I then applied the sticker portion to my cardstock and inserted 2 crayons. How magical is this little unicorn card? I may or may not have kept a few for myself! There are a ton of options in the Design Store but I chose the unicorn, puppy, and kitty files (ID #171775, #171778, #171793).
I hope you are inspired to make a few (or all!) of these amazing quick, cute, and easy Valentine’s Day ideas.
