Ana is the creator of Planeta Silhouette and creates from her home in Madrid, Spain. She is a graphic designer who loves crafting—a love that has only grown stronger since she started using her Silhouette. Ana also teaches how to use the Silhouette in Spanish. When she’s not crafting and designing, Ana loves traveling and is a lover of nature and photography.

Falling in love with Silhouette

In 2012, a friend showed her Silhouette Portrait® to Ana and, as Ana says, “It was love at first sight.” She went out the next day and bought her first Silhouette CAMEO®, which was the first in a long line of Silhouette machines she bought. Currently Ana owns not only the original Silhouette CAMEO® but the Silhouette CAMEO® 3, the Silhouette Curio™, and the Silhouette Mint™.

When asked which machine was her favorite, Ana said, “[The] CAMEO, undoubtedly. I love cutting my 12 in. x 12 in. paper and long pieces of vinyl.” When asked what her specialty was, Ana said scrapbooking and heat transfer material. “I can’t count how many t-shirts I’ve made!”

Creating Silhouette content for Spanish-speakers

While searching for ideas on how to use her Silhouette, Ana noticed that there was a need for more content geared to Spanish-speaking Silhouette users. So Ana started to create content in Spanish with one purpose in mind: helping others to use and enjoy their machines as much as she does, regardless of whether they speak English or Spanish.

And Silhouette proved to be very popular around the world. “Planeta Silhouette was born and [before I realized] I had thousands of followers around the globe.” And while Ana still enjoys creating and designing, her love for teaching and seeing others using her designs in their projects, discovering how much fun it is, is her favorite thing.

Inspiration and innovation with Silhouette

For Ana, inspiration comes from being “surrounded by so many little, beautiful things.” Playing with her daughter, family meals, a walk in the park, visiting new countries, or even a new television show. For Ana, inspiration is always ready to knock at the door.

“I enjoy [using] Silhouette products because of the possibilities and capabilities, the quality, and the huge variety of materials, accessories, and kits.”

While working with paper, vinyl, and heat transfer material is a favorite of Ana’s, she also loves discovering new materials that she can use with her Silhouette.

“No me da la vida!” Ana says. “Life is not long enough to cut every material that I want.”
