The Heat Pen Super-Fine is the latest addition to Silhouette’s lineup of versatile creative tools. Compatible with the CURIO2, CAMEO5, PORTRAIT4, and CAMEO PRO MK-II, this tool is designed for use on cardstock, enabling users to add fine heat-pressed designs to their projects. Half the width of the original tool, the super fine heat pen boasts a 0.5mm tip. The Super Fine Heat Pen may be purchased individually, or as part of a set (retailing at $119.99) with the original fine and wide heat pens, gold and silver heat transfer foil, and masking tape. Whether creating custom greeting cards and wedding invitations, scrapbooking, or adding embellishments to paper crafts, the Super Fine Heat Pen delivers smooth, precise lines that elevate the final product.

New Pen Holder (Type C) Set

Silhouette is adding a new adapter to their pen holder collection. The extra large (orange) adapter comes in a set with the small, medium and large adapters for use with a range of pens. From a thinner ball-point to a thicker felt tipped marker, the Pen Holder (Type C) set can do it all. The XL adapter is compatible with pens and markers with a diameter of 11.3 mm (about 0.44 in) to 12.4 mm (about 0.49 in), giving creators greater flexibility in pen sizes for their projects. 

Silhouette Studio 5: Simplified Design with New Starter Mode 

Available by Christmas 2024 

Silhouette Studio’s updated user interface now includes added step-by-step guides and helpful illustrations, making it easier for users to navigate the software. The update specifically addresses common pain points, such as the Page Setup and Send Panel pages, which have been redesigned to offer a more streamlined experience.  

The new Starter Mode in Silhouette Studio is crafted with beginners in mind, streamlining the design process by limiting icons and features to avoid overwhelming users. The simplified view offers a clear, easy-to-navigate interface that guides users step-by-step through the design process and includes illustrations, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish. 

In addition, the step-by-step guides are intended to help new customers to become more aware of the types of projects available, and to guide them onto more advanced types of material, tools and machines. 

The home screen gives a friendlier, easier starting page for customers, introduces them to Project Tutorials and promotes designs from the design store.

Silhouette WEB 

Available in Beta: NOW 

Launching: Before Christmas 

Silhouette Web is an entirely new software product being made available as a public Beta from 11 September (3pm MST). It will allow customers to design, import, modify and send designs to any Silhouette machine with a Bluetooth connection (Cameo 3 and later). As a website, it can be used on any device with internet connection (tablets, phones, laptops, PCs, Chrombooks etc), without having to download and install any new software. This gives customers the complete freedom to design wherever they want, and sits alongside Silhouette Studio and Silhouette Go to offer our customers a powerful and flexible set of software..  

Silhouette Web has been designed with the same goals as Silhouette Studio 5.0. It includes the Home Page, Project Tutorials and Guided SEND seen in Silhouette Studio 5.0, and all of the core features of Silhouette Studio are supported, including Library, Shapes, Trace, Text, Alignment/Modification Tool and Print-and-Cut. Silhouette Web works towards the same goals as Silhouette Studio 5.0; making the first-time experience easier for new customers, and enabling/guiding existing customers to making more advanced projects.
