Hello friends. Connie here with a post to show you the amazing things Curio can do that other Silhouette machines like the CAMEO, Portrait, and the Mint cannot do! If you don’t already own Curio, I can guarantee you’ll be wanting to add this gem to your Christmas list after reading the amazing things it does.
Stipple Metal:
Curio can create beautiful stipple metal art. Tiny dots stippled in the metal form together to create a beautiful unique work of art like none other! I love the edgy look of this stippling method that easily adds a touch of modern feel to your home and project.
Deboss:
Curio can add dimension to any project with the deboss feature. The deboss feature allows you to create an indentation on paper. For best results don’t forget to use your Silhouette America specially designed score and emboss paper. Pictured below is a debossed image with gold adhesive vinyl layered over it for even more dimension. This effect can make any paper project go from drag to fab in just a few minutes!
You can even print an image using the Print & Cut feature and have Curio add a deboss around the printed image! It is a bit hard to capture this amazing feature on camera but in person this combo looks and feels amazing.
Emboss:
Curio can emboss paper and vellum! Embossing creates more of a raised effect on your media, whereas deboss is more of a dent in your media. Embossing creates a beautiful texture to your projects. This feature is sure to please all you fabulous card-creating ladies and gents out there.

Metal Etching:
The metal etching feature on Curio is my favorite feature. It can *etch metal*…Yes you read that right! It is incredible that a machine like Curio can etch metal. Using a special etching tool, Curio can create beautiful designs on metal sheets and even jewelry. Can you imagine all the money you will save by creating custom jewelry for yourself and to give as gifts? The possibilities are truly endless with the metal etching feature that only Curio offers.
Let’s review! Metal stippling, embossing, debossing, and metal etching are amazing features that Curio can do that no other Silhouette machine can. I hope you were able to catch a small glimpse of how spectacular Curio is and all the wonderful things you can create. What is your favorite feature that the Curio offers? Comment below and I look forward to hearing what you all think! As always, happy crafting!

You can use it with vinyl as long as it is smooth and flat to allow the static charge to hold on to it. Rolled vinyl that wants to go back to its rolled shape will not necessarily work well, and it would need to be trimmed to fit the ES mat cutting area.

Yes, you can use the heat pen while using the ES mat. 🙂

Once you’ve pushed the mat up against the rollers, just press the “Load” arrow button (bottom right on the display). Does a regular sticky mat load into the machine for you?
